2/1/2019 A Message of Thanks from the DC Court of Appeals 1/3/2019 Administrative Order 1-19 for Temporary Suspension of Rule Requiring Law Students Practicing in D.C. to Register with this Court and be issued a Student Bar Membership Card 1/8/2018 Certificates of Good Standing are now issued by the DC Bar on behalf of the Court of Appeals. This is an update on the status of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals’ operations in light of the current public health emergency due to the coronavirus. Please see the order for additional information.

The court plans to issue another order regarding operations subsequent to August 30, 2020, which will further address court operations.

Pursuant to this court May 21, 2020, order, the court is no longer suspending or tolling filing deadlines. Filing deadlines are being tolled until March 31, meaning if a filing is due 3/16 to 3/30, it may be filed on 3/31. The DCCA’s eFiling and Public Access website has been restored and is now available for all filings, including emergency matters. At this time, all oral arguments will go forward as scheduled, but requests for continuances by counsel because of particularized health concerns will be given special consideration. Go to https://efile.dcappeals.gov to access the system. As you are aware, the DC Court of Appeals has had to adapt and modify its operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Court of Appeals continues its operations and remains open although our court building is closed to the public. The Court's eFiling rules that require that two paper copies be provided to the court are suspended.
