C&J made some of them until recently, too. In 1965 the company purchased the English bespoke bootmaker Peal & Co (founded in in 1765) and since then they market a range of shoes and other goods under that name. AE is constantly recommended because they're the first shoe on the price-range tier where you hit truly long lasting, quality shoes, so it's a great balance between quality and price, especially when compared to shoes just $50-100 less expensive.
